Hard hat on blueprintsDo your church facilities help or hinder your congregation’s ministries? Planning is essential to ensure that mission is driving your building’s design, use, expenses and location.

As your partner in ministry, Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) offers planning services and tools that can help you set a course for effective, efficient and mission-driven building use.

Holy Places Grants for New Church Ministries

Your congregation is a new faith community that is growing in mission and is in need of a Holy Place to serve as the primary center for worship and other church activities. You have developed a plan to fund this new Place, but a “boost” in capital funding would help to ensure the long-term sustainability of your new church.

Thanks to generous donors, the Holy Places Fund helps new Disciples congregations like yours acquire a home. DCEF now awards Holy Places Grants for the acquisition of an initial long-term Place. The Fund will consider requests from Disciples congregations who understand Place to mean ownership of real property or whose ministry provides for Place in other ways. Our first Holy Places Grant was awarded to Iglesia Mision La Roca, which is located in the North Texas area. Mision La Roca will use the grant to help reduce debt on a DCEF loan for construction of their new sanctuary and fellowship and administrative areas, thus improving cash flow to be used for their active ministries. The church was awarded the grant based on their strong commitment to stewardship and partnership, active children’s ministry, and their dedication to those in need in their at-risk South Dallas neighborhood, where they feel called to serve as the primary Hispanic church in the area.
